1. Pirate Women: an informative (yet exciting!) presentation about the lives and legends of the major pirate women throughout history. This presentation is a combination of world history, biography, and storytelling. It has been known to elicit some laughs, as well! Has a powerpoint that goes along with it, too.
2. (Re)telling History: a writing workshop where I discuss why women pirates have been ignored throughout history, and how history changes based on who is recording it. Each student chooses a historical event and retells it through the eyes of an unconventional narrator. We brainstorm, read aloud, and offer critiques together.
